Support for ease in camouflage law

Non-traditional camouflage patterns cannot be seen as impersonating the armed forces.

That was the opinion of Minister of Home Affairs Wilfred Abrahams, as he sought to expound on his comments made in Parliament last month about some laws that might no longer be relevant.

“[Camouflage] was used as an example when we were talking about the Law Reform Commission and some laws that we might need to relook, that may not be serving the interest as was intended back then.

“We understand why the law was there in the first place, so it’s not that I am suggesting that anything be done to pull it willy-nilly or that there is no need for some restriction, but rather than focus on absolutes, let’s focus on what the intention was,” Abrahams told the Sunday Sun.
