National Under-21 captain Kayne Wharton is among six young Barbadian players who are now in Canada to play in the India Club Junior Hockey Tournament presented by Coast Capital.
Wharton, along with Raghnall Yarde-Deane, Dominic Toppin, Hajani Barrow, Riel Rock and Mikael Yearwood, who all represented Barbados a couple of weeks ago on home soil at the 2023 Junior Pan American Games, left the island on Sunday for Vancouver.
The four-day competition is slated to start on Thursday and finish on Sunday at the India Field Hockey Club.
Speaking before their departure, Wharton said he expected the players to give a good performance. (ML)
