After the rains ceased and the floods receded, some residents at Road View, St Peter, aired their grievances about the flood-prone nature of the area.
Road View was one of many areas affected by the downpour of rain on Thursday afternoon. The entrance to the neighbourhood of Sweet Home was obstructed by large pieces of debris.
Some residents said the gully at the top of the road, which slopes upward, overflowed with water carrying rocks and tree branches downhill.
“Anybody that sees it, even the people that live here, haven’t seen water like this since 1979 when the hurricane was coming,” Ronald Kellman said.
