The congregations of St Catherine and St Mark Anglican churches were challenged to keep the faith even when their lives seemed engulfed in complete darkness.
The enlightening message was sounded from the pulpit as parishioners joined as one for their Easter Sunday service at the St Mark’s, St John site yesterday morning.
In an approximately 30-minute sermon the Priest-in-Charge Reverend Roslyn Harper-Johnson of St Mark and St Catherine set her delivery against Mary’s [mother of Jesus] experience of visiting her son’s tomb in less than ideal dark conditions early in the morning following his crucifixion.
“Mary was experiencing profound darkness from the very first day of the week. She walked with Him [Jesus] during Holy Week. . . (JS)
