With the Barbados Defence Force Sports Programme (BDFSP) football team halted, several players have joined their biggest rivals to play in the ongoing inaugural Republic Cup tournament.
Former Premier League champions Weymouth Wales have benefited tremendously in the recently concluded Barbados Football Association (BFA) transfer window, with national players goalkeeper Kishmar Primus and defender Akeem Hill joining the Carrington Village-based titans.
The other big-name players on Wales’ roster for newly appointed head coach Carlos Jackman are striker Arantees Lawrence and versatile Barbados player Rashad Smith.
Lawrence rejoined the club where he has had most of his domestic success after playing for St Andrew Lions in the 2018-2019 domestic league and knockout competitions.
Jackman, who took over from national youth coach Renaldo “Pee Wee” Gilkes, the now technical director for Kick Start, will also have the services of former Porey Springs striker, Shaquille Stewart. (AGB)
