People are presenting with cancer at a younger age and the disease is spreading much faster.
These were among the observations by Dr Shazad Mohamed of Spectrum Radiology Services Inc. who said part of their job was identifying cancers.
“We do digital mammograms for women to detect breast cancer and ultrasounds for men to detect things like prostate cancer. What we’ve found is more people are coming in with various cancers and they are presenting in younger populations which is a concern,” he said.
Mohamed said the speed at which cancers were spreading could be linked to the environment, diet and lifestyle.
“The minute anyone sees any changes in their bodies, consult a doctor,” he advised.
He was speaking on Friday at The Nation on Fontabelle where the company held a special mini health expo in celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the Better Health Magazine. (Nation News)
