National Nutrition Centre bringing message to the community

The National Nutritional Centre is doing more to offer its services and to ensure their healthy eating tips are more accessible.

Acting nutrition officer Glencill Taylor made those promises during their Nutrition Conference, where she officially launched their website and spoke about their plans to relocate from Ladymeade Gardens, St Michael.

Although she did not disclose the new location, she said many plans were under way.

“At this juncture, the National Nutrition Centre looks forward with anticipation to being relocated in the near future, where we can offer more services to the public, better serve our students and enhance the technical services currently being offered,” Taylor said.

The conference was held as part of their Nutrition Month of activities, under the theme Creating Healthy Food Environments at Radisson Aquatica Resort Barbados, Aquatic Gap, St Michael.

During her presentation, she announced that their nutritioncentre.health.gov.bb website went live and said items such as a Healthy Eating Guide and Guidelines for Healthy Foods in Schools had been published.

“We have launched the website with our existing materials and nutrition month content, but let me assure you that we have a wealth of nutrition information en route to being uploaded over the coming months,” she added. (TG)
