People are losing equipment to Barbadians who are looking to score deals by buying stolen property.
So said Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes as he dealt with a many-time convicted thief turned receiver of stolen property, who was caught with tools taken from the construction site of the Old Supreme Court building.
“You all are not asking questions when it comes to property and people are losing their things,” he said yesterday.
“People are investing money in businesses and equipment and everybody is getting a deal after they are stolen. We can’t keep this up. I have got to send the necessary message that you cannot be taking advantage of other people.”
The Chief Magistrate’s comments came as he dealt with Cuthbert Robert Harewood. (HLE)
