Parents of students at Luther Thorne Memorial Primary School are concerned the environmental issues plaguing the Wildey, St Michael institution may be making their children ill.
This complaint comes in the wake of them finding out that there have been rat and bird droppings, mould, and significant structural deficiencies at the school plant.
Several parents who gathered outside the institution yesterday said they found out about the environmental issues when they attended an emergency meeting on Tuesday. That was mere hours after some of them collected their children because teachers turned up late for classes.
President of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) Nathaniel Boyce, who is also a teacher at the school, complained that educators were fed up with having to work in hazardous conditions for the past ten years. (AH)
