Declaring that he was the peace maker was not enough to prevent illegal Jamaican Ryon Antonio Williams from being remanded to Dodds Prison yesterday.
His cousin Romario Chavez Coburn, who was also in the country illegally was, however, reprimanded and discharged and ordered to pay compensation.
Williams, a 30-year-old labourer who was living in Passage Road, St Michael, was in the District “A” Magistrates’ Court where he was accused of and pleaded not guilty to assaulting Vincentian Junior Richards on December 23.
Prosecutor Sergeant Kenmore Phillips objected to Williams being granted bail as he revealed investigators were still searching for another man in connection with the offence. (HLE)
