Severe weather is forecast for the Garrison Savannah today around 5 p.m. when the Gay Smith-owned colt Hurricane is tipped to leave his 11 opponents in the Grade 1 Midsummer Creole Classic in deep water.
The Edward Walcott-trained colt – to be partnered by jockey Antonio Bishop – is heavily favoured to add the second jewel of local horse racing’s Triple Crown.
The Midsummer Creole Classic will be contested over 1 800 metres, and Hurricane is tipped to win, and keep alive his quest for the Triple Crown following his success in the Barbados Guineas this past April.
Since his track debut last September, his lone defeat came when he finished second to Kittens Star sprinting 1 100 metres on his return from injury. (LY)
