The stylish Dario Hinds matched his game to his sartorial splendour to stop teenager Tyrease Holder 15-21, 21-11, 21-15 when the Barbados Road Tennis Open caravan moved to Haynesville, St James on Thursday night.
Hinds, dressed in a full ensemble of head and wrist bands, shirt, pants, socks and shoes emblazoned with the Nike logo, seemed once again to be lacking the matching play as teenager Holder unleashed some cross-court drags to take the opening game.
Holder’s all black outfit without any logos seemed just as impressive as his opponent’s but in the second game that seemed meaningless as Hinds called on his greater experience to take charge of the contest. The decider was a tense battle with the scores locking from six up to 13.
ipped and dropped his racquet while attempting to play a return and the game was held up while the court was cleared of dust. A more focused Hinds seized the opportunity to move to 16-13 and even a serving error did not allow Holder to get back into contention as Hinds eased to victory 21-15. (KB)
