Harrison College maintained their unbeaten records to win both the boys’ and girls’ National Sports Council’s Under-16 volleyball titles when the finals climaxed on Monday at the Wildey Gymnasium.
What made the Kolij Lions’ double strike most significant was that they triumphed over previously undefeated opponents, defeating Queen’s College’s girls 25-20, 25-21 and edging Christ Church Foundation School 25-23, 19-25, 15-13.
A doubly ecstatic coach, Stephen Packer indicated that the wins were tough.
“It was very hard but in the end my teams pulled through. We worked hard every week and every weekend and we made sure that we brought everything to the court today [Monday]. . .” (KB)
