A St Philip man who was stopped for a routine traffic offence but was caught with a gun, was ordered to pay $15 000 immediately by the No. 5 Supreme Court yesterday.
Brandon Matthew Edward, 25, a customer service representative, of Sargeant’s Park, Foul Bay, St Philip, had pleaded guilty, at a previous Session of the Continuous Sittings, to having a .22-calibre revolver and four rounds of .22-calibre ammunition on February 7, 2022.
He was represented by attorney Shadia Simpson, while State Counsel Tito Holder appeared for the prosecution.
Justice Pamela Beckles fined him $15 000 forthwith for possession of the illegal weapon or three years in prison. She placed the first-time offender on six months’ probation for the ammunition. (HLE)
