Gran’s $18 500 sets gunman free

Self-confessed gunman Nathan Tyrell Ricardo Greenidge has his grandmother to thank for his freedom today.

The retiree had walked with enough money to pay Greenidge’s forthwith fines, which allowed him to be released from Dodds Prison yesterday.

Greenidge, of Berry Hill, Merricks, St Philip, was back in the No. 2 Supreme Court after he had pleaded guilty to having a firearm and six rounds of ammunition on December 29, 2021.

He was represented by Senior Counsel Michael Lashley and attorney Zudie Payne, while State Counsel Anastacia McMeo appeared for the prosecution.

Justice Elwood Watts fined Greenidge $15 000 forthwith or 1 158 days in prison for having the firearm, and $3 500 forthwith or two years in jail for the ammunition. (HLE)
