Triathlete Isis Gaskin has been named in a Barbados 31-member squad for the 51st CARIFTA Games at the Kirani James Stadium in Grenada, March 30 to April 1.
Gaskin, who competed at last Sunday’s Americas Triathlon World Cup on the Mighty Grynner Highway, qualified in the Women’s 3 000 metres.
She will be joined by Princess Margaret schoolgirl Lashay Wilkinson, who has been selected for her maiden CARIFTA in this event.
New secretary of the Athletics Association of Barbados (AAB) Renee Layne yesterday evening at the Usain Bolt Sports Complex announced the squad which has been rocked by absence of United States-based collegiate athletes such as hurdler Nya Browne and quarter-miler Josiah Parris.
