A flash flood watch is in effect for Barbados until 6 a.m., but may be terminated sooner if conditions warrant, says the Barbados Meteorological Services.
A flash flood watch is issued when heavy or excessive rainfall in a short period of time (generally less than six hours) could result in flash flooding within the watch area. It does not mean that flooding will occur.
Radar data and observations show significant areas of precipitation east of the island. Approximately one to two inches are possible imminently across Barbados, which can lead to flooding, as soils are already saturated. (PR/SAT)
