Flash flood watch

Unstable conditions are affecting the island and generating moderate to heavy showers across the country, says the Barbados Meteorological Services

One to two inches of rainfall with isolated higher amounts are likely throughout the day, and Barbados is under a flash flood watch.

A flash flood watch is issued when heavy or excessive rainfall in a short period of time (generally less than six hours) could result in flash flooding within the watch area, but it does not mean that flooding will occur.

This alert will be in place until noon in the first instance, but may be discontinued sooner, if conditions warrant. (P/SAT)
