Flash-flood watch

A flash-flood watch is in effect for Barbados.

A flash-flood watch is issued when heavy or excessive rainfall in a short period of time (generally less than 6 hours) could result in flash flooding within the watch area.

It does not mean that flooding will occur.

The Intertropical Convergence Zone is currently generating moderate to heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms within the area, and as a result, rainfall accumulations of one to two inches are possible during the afternoon.

This alert will be updated at 6 p.m., or sooner if conditions warrant. (PR/SAT)
