Fifth place for Under-19 women cricketers

Barbados Under-19 women’s cricket team won the fifth-placed playoff against Leeward Islands yesterday at Gilbert Park, Trinidad and Tobago, in the West Indies Under-19 Women’s 30-over Championship.

Off-spinner Theanny Herbert-Mayers took three wickets for 10 runs in five overs, as Barbados restricted their opponents to 91-9 in 30 overs.

In reply, the Bajans reached 67-1 in 13 overs to win on the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method.

Trinidad and Tobago Under-19 Women won the championship after defeating Windward Islands by 37 runs in the final at Frank Worrell Memorial Ground, St Augustine.

Guyana Under-19 Women claimed third place after beating Jamaica by five wickets in the third place playoff at the National Cricket Centre in Couva.
