Double crown for U-17 cricketers

Barbados’ captain Zion Hill believes the discipline of the players was critical to the team’s historic double crown in the Cricket West Indies Rising Stars Regional Under-17 Championships in Trinidad and Tobago.

“The discipline in the team and guidance of management helped us to stay the course, when it got hard,” Brathwaite told Saturday Sport at the Grantley Adams International Airport yesterday morning after the team returned home to cheers from their parents and other family members.

Not a single member of the Barbados Cricket Association’s Board of Management was on hand to welcome the triumphant players home yesterday.

Only BCA’s Manager, Marketing and Communications, Steven Leslie and chairman of the youth selection panel, Elvis Howard were present with the NATION being the only media house present. (EZS)
