It’s time to recognise not only the national heroes, but also the unsung heroes of Barbados.
That suggestion has come from the Congress of Trade Unions and Staff Associations of Barbados (CTUSAB) as it marked National Heroes Day.
In a statement, CTUSAB general secretary Dennis DePeiza paid tribute to some of those whom he said led the way to making a better life for Barbadians.
“It is CTUSAB’s view that the annual observance and celebration of National Heroes Day is a fitting recognition of the outstanding work, sterling contributions and tremendous sacrifices made by our national heroes in shaping the development, growth and advancement of a modern Barbados. Today, the country pays homage to its national heroes, including the living national heroes, for their continuing contributions to the advancement of Barbados,” he noted. (BA/PR)
