Two passengers aboard the adults-only Virgin Resilient Lady cruise which docked in Barbados were reprimanded and discharged yesterday after they confessed to having small amounts of meth and cocaine.
American visitors David Martin Aldea, a 58-year-old technician, and Mikel Eric Gerle, a 59-year-old retiree, made separate appearances before Magistrate Manila Renee in the District “A” Magistrates’ Court.
Aldea, of 7th Avenue, New York, admitted that on Tuesday he had 3.30 grammes of cocaine worth $330, that he trafficked in it, imported it and intended to supply it. He also confessed to having 2.8 grammes of methamphetamine worth $140 and importing it.
Gerle, of 4111 West Sunset Boulevard, Apt 333, Los Angeles, California, confessed that on the same date he unlawfully had 1.4 grammes of cocaine worth $70, that he intended to supply it, illegally imported it and trafficked in it. He also owned up to illegally having 1.4 grammes of meth worth $140 and illegally importing it.
