There were 117 new COVID-19 cases, 48 males and 69 females, recorded on Sunday, May 29, from the 479 tests carried out by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.
Of the positive cases, 20 people were under the age of 18, and 97 were 18 years and older. The number of people in isolation facilities was 53, while 1 978 were in home isolation.
Three deaths were recorded yesterday. These comprised two vaccinated men aged 80 and 92, and an unvaccinated 88-year-old woman. As of May 29, there were 449 deaths.
The public health laboratory has conducted 685 842 tests since February 2020, and recorded 80 441 COVID-19 cases (36 729 males and 43 712 females).
Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the number of people with at least one dose is 162 366 (71.1 per cent of the eligible population).
The number of fully vaccinated persons is 152 791 (56.4 per cent of the total population or 66.9 per cent of the eligible population). The eligible population represents those who are 12 years and older. (BGIS)
