A total of 41 new COVID-19 cases, 15 males and 26 females, were recorded from the 240 tests conducted on Friday, September 16, by laboratories across the island.
The cases comprised seven persons under the age of 18, and 34 who were 18 years and older. There were 34 people in isolation facilities, while 315 were in home isolation. As at September 16, there were 559 COVID-19 related deaths.
The laboratories conducted 761,636 tests since February 2020, and recorded 102,160 COVID-19 cases (46,191 males and 55,969 females).
Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of persons with at least one dose is 163,571 (71.6 per cent of the eligible population).
The total number of fully vaccinated persons is 154,568 (57 per cent of the total population, or 67.7 per cent of the eligible population). The eligible population represents those persons who are 12 years and older.
