Court cries shame on goods receiver

Stop looking for deals.

That was the warning from Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes as he chastised and remanded a man who admitted receiving stolen goods.

“Stop riding off the backs of people who are not working,” he said.

Daniel Antone Shaquan Stoute, a self-employed 29-year-old, of Lightfoot Lane, The City, had just pleaded guilty to dishonestly receiving four toilet seat covers, two folding chairs, eight floral arrangements, 66 cosmetic bags, a kettle, umbrella, eight bath tubs, one bowl and nine packs of clothes pegs on December 21, belonging to Caribbean Sanari International Development Ltd, trading as Big Tang, knowing or believing the items to be stolen.
