The constitutional motion brought by Adriel Brathwaite challenging the validity of Parliament was adjourned earlier today without a date being set pending the decision of the Court of Appeal.
Queen’s Counsel Garth Patterson has appealed Justice Cicely’s decision after she had ruled against his arguments on preliminary points.
The judge, at that time, had also indicated the substantive matter was to be heard today.
However, Patterson told the court this morning he had sent a letter to the Registrar asking that the substantive matter before the High Court be adjourned sine die.
There was no objection from the Government’s team of lawyers.
Justice Chase then adjourned the matter. (HLE)
