Traffic slowed to a crawl in all directions earlier today after a truck carrying sugar cane drove into the ditch at the Turnpike junction in St George.
The driver, who was travelling in a westerly direction from Carmichael, said he was attempting to avoid a car.
Vehicles were backed up in all directions, but personnel from the Barbados Police Service was on hand to direct traffic.
Attempts were being made to remove it from the ditch.
It was the second such incident on the day. A trailer truck carrying plant debris overturned along the Warrens, St Michael section of the ABC Highway. (SAT)
