Bid to better police PSVs

Come Tuesday, Deputy Prime Minister Santia Bradshaw will be tabling in Parliament, amendments to the Transport Authority Act.

As she put owners and operators on notice, Bradshaw, who is also Minister of Transport, said this was aimed at giving the Transport Authority more power to police the Public Service Vehicle (PSV) Sector.

“I think we will start to see a change in the PSV sector. If you take yourself seriously, others will take you seriously as well. If you show respect for people, you will get it back.”

Bradshaw was speaking on Sunday at Infinity on the Beach Hotel during a function for drivers Paul Frank, and Frederick Gibson, who gave 41 and 38 years, respectively.

The Alliance Owners of Public Transport (AOPT) says it will also be weeding out the “bad behaviour” shwn by some operators. (Nation News)
