Barbados and Pacific Oceania split the opening singles matches in their Davis Cup World Group II play-off tie at the National Tennis Centre in Wildey on Friday.
National No.1 seed Darian King notched a 6-4, 6-0 win over Pacific Oceania’s number two seed Clement Mainguy.
Local number two Kaipo Marshall was defeated by the visitor’s number one seed Colin Sinclair 6-2, 6-1.
Yesterday’s singles were played under best-of-three sets rules and Mainguy got the ball rolling in his match against Barbados’ number one. (NM)
