A confident Barbados Under-17 team left the island yesterday for Trinidad and Tobago seeking to record a hat-trick of titles in the Cricket West Indies Regional Under-17 Boys’ Tournament that starts tomorrow.
Barbados, who are the defending champions having won the title in 2018 and 2019, will be captained by in-form Christ Church Foundation eft-arm spinner Nathan Sealy, who is also a capable middle-order batsman.
Sealy, 17, who will have Queen’s College’s all-rounder Zion Brathwaite as his deputy, is coming off two outstanding bowling performances in the Barbados Cricket Association’s Elite/Division One Super50 Cup.
He captured six for 23 in nine overs against Police at Weymouth and followed up with the remarkable figures of 9.3 overs, four maidens, seven runs, seven wickets (9.3-4-7-7) versus Carlton at the Desmond Haynes Oval. (EZS)
