Deservingly, late CEO of the Barbados Turf Club Christopher J. Armond, who passed away on May 11, will be recognised by the club today at the historic Garrison Savannah.
As the Club stages its eighth day of the first racing season, it will be entitled Barbados Turf Club Employees Race-day.
Race number five is dedicated to Armond who has been described by many as a legend in horse racing. A field of seven horses is down to contest the 1 800 metres Christopher J. Armond Memorial Handicap which should be a thriller.
The card will see seven races being contested beginning from 2 p.m. where 59 horses are down to compete on the programme. Armond was a strong believer in all the local breeding industries and fittingly two of the island’s leading Creoles Triple Crown winners People’s Champ and War Eagle, both Derby winners, will face the starter here.
