World bronze medallist Sada Williams, Commonwealth silver medallist Shane Brathwaite and Olympian Akela Jones will all compete in today’s Miramar Invitational at the Ansin Sports Complex in Florida.
Williams will feature in the women’s 200 metres at 2:45 p.m. against a competitive field which includes Abby Steiner and Tamari Davis of United States of America, Natalliah Whyte of Jamaica, and Anthonique Strachan of The Bahamas.
This race will be the fourth 200 metres appearance of the season for Williams who has a season’s best time of 22.98 seconds.
Brathwaite is scheduled to line up in the 110 metres hurdles at 2 p.m. Last Saturday, the hurdler opened his season with a wind-aided 10.52 seconds in the men’s 100 metres invitational event at the 95th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays at the Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas.
Jones, a 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympian, is listed in a field of seven in the women’s long jump at 11:43 a.m. The Florida meet will be her first outdoor appearance of the season. (RW)
