Having dual citizenship has created a new window of opportunity for teenaged Barbadian sprinter Amani Kirnon.
After the Barbados door for selection on the CARIFTA Games team closed, another opened in Montserrat.
As a result, Kirnon, a former Harrison College student, who lives in Barbados, will now be in the fast lane for the tiny island where her father was born when the 50th edition of the Games begin at the Thomas A. Robinson Stadium here in the Bahamas on Saturday.
“I have dual citizenship, so I’m half Montserratian so I will be running for them,” she told Weekend Sport on Tuesday night at the Piarco Airport in Trinidad and Tobago while awaiting a connecting charter flight to the Bahamas. (EZS)
