BRA tax clinics from April 1

The Barbados Revenue Authority (BRA) will begin its annual tax clinic sessions at locations islandwide from Saturday, April 1.

BRA’s acting Senior Manager, Headquarters Services, Carolyn Williams-Gayle, in a media release, said that the sessions continue to be part of the BRA’s outreach strategy for supporting taxpayers and improving service delivery and compliance during the tax season.

“We will have a dedicated centre in operation at the Queen’s Park Steel Shed, from Monday to Saturday, from April 1 until May 5. “Additional centres will open every Saturday in April at the Authority’s office in Holetown, as well as at three resource centres around the island. The centres are located at Briar Hall, Christ Church; Rice’s, St Philip, and Valley, St George. All clinics will be open from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.,” Williams-Gayle said.

“The tax clinics are an excellent opportunity for us to engage with and educate taxpayers, so we are encouraging persons to take advantage and visit the tax clinics where we can assist and guide with filing your tax returns, filing for the reverse tax credit, updating your records and generally engaging with you, our taxpayers. This is the opportunity for persons who may not get the chance to visit our offices or call our contact centre, to receive any additional help they may require to file their tax returns by the May 2 deadline, or to bring their affairs up to date.”

Tax officers will be available at the tax clinics to provide taxpayers with assistance in navigating TAMIS, resetting passwords, guidance on return filing, registrations for Tax Identification Numbers, and Land Tax queries. (BRA/BGIS)
