Hours after a suspicious package was discovered in a bathroom at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre on Wednesday, the all clear was given for normal activities to resume.
Police spokesman, inspector Rodney Inniss, says the package was “located, identified, checked and neutralised”. It was removed from the building at Two Mile Hill, St Michael and taken for further examination and investigation.
It was not an explosive device.
“The roadway and the building and its surroundings have been thoroughly checked, and the all clear was given for normal activities to resume,” Inniss said in a release.
Earlier, the area was cleared of both pedestrian and vehicular traffic during the operation and a command centre was set up nearby. (PR/SAT)
