The murder trial of Runako Lee Omar Husbands continued in the No. 2 Supreme Court yesterday. Husbands, of No. 1 Chapel Gap, Paynes Bay, St James, is accused of murdering Terrence Phillips on August 12, 2011.
Murder accused Runako Husbands initially told police he struggled with “Papa T” for a gun before a shot went off, but he did not know the man had been hit.
The accused, said Sergeant Michael Browne, then gave a “no comment” interview before changing his mind and dictating a statement and answering questions.
Browne, who was testifying in the No. 2 Supreme Court yesterday, said Husbands and his attorney Angella Mitchell-Gittens arrived at District “E” Police Station on August 24, 2011.
He said he told the accused he was investigating Terrence Phillips’ murder and he believed he could assist. (HLE)
