Barbados has been provisionally chosen to host next April’s Junior Pan American Hockey Championships.
The forthcoming event will be the 13th edition of both the men’s and women’s under-21 Championships which will see national teams from across the Americas compete for a spot at the Field Hockey Junior World Cups.
The 2023 Men’s FIH Hockey Junior World Cup will be hosted in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia while the 2023 Women’s FIH Hockey Junior World Cup will be hosted in Santiago, Chile.
The latter is the flagship event for the under-21 players and involves 32 of the world’s best national teams (16 each for men and women)
That was just part of the upcoming busy international schedule for the Barbados hockey teams according to Secretary of the Barbados Hockey Federation (BHF), Kofi Hinds.
Speaking at the Barbados International Hockey Festival, Hinds said Barbados had qualified for both the men’s and women’s field hockey competitions at the 24th edition of the Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games which are scheduled to take place in San Salvador, next year from June 23 to July 8.
