Constable Everton Gittens is back on the job.
Sources told the Sunday Sun the lawman returned to his substantive post at the Drug Squad about two months ago.
Last December the 55-year-old was cleared of the charge of murdering Selwyn “Blues” Knight on March 15, 2015, and recklessly engaging in conduct which placed Junior Knight, son of the deceased, in danger of death or serious bodily harm, as well as unlawfully wounding him with intent to maim, disfigure or disable him or to cause.
Gittens, who resides in Bank Hall, St Michael, shot Knight after Knight and his son, who also lived in Bank Hall, confronted and tried to apprehend a man who had broken and entered their home and stolen items. Gittens apparently heard the commotion and went to the scene. (MB)
