Three robbers to be sentenced

The three men who threw in the towel and confessed to robbing Monsta Grill Bar owner Elvis Graham and his staff almost seven years ago will be sentenced later this month by the No. 3 Supreme Court.

Joel Omar Hunte, of Parish Land, Christ Church; Damien Shavaine Proverbs, also of Parish Land and Nathaniel Renaldo Robinson, of Parish Land, had gone on trial charged with robbing Graham of $6 800, two cellphones, a pair of earrings, a chain and a ring; robbing Taja Neblett of a cellphone and $10; robbing Zariena Khan of a cellphone, a chain and $105; and robbing Andrew Maloney of a phone and $20, all on June 18, 2015.

However, they asked to be rearraigned, pleaded guilty to the offences and had formal verdicts returned against them.

Senior State Counsel Neville Watson and Rudolph Burnett prosecuted the matter, while Proverbs was represented by attorney Angella Mitchell-Gittens; Proverbs by Queen’s Counsel Michael Lashley and attorney Sade Harris; and Robinson by attorney Rasheed Belgrave. (HLE)
