The Barbados Police Service is investigating a stabbing incident which occurred about 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday along Vauxhall Main Road, Christ Church opposite Sheraton Centre.
Police said in a statement today that the 43-year-old male driver, the 35-year-old male conductor of a route taxi, which operates on that route; and a male passenger were involved in the incident.
Police said the public service vehicle was en route to Bridgetown when the passenger boarded. A few minutes later, the conductor and the passenger had an argument that led to an altercation as the vehicle reached the area of Sheraton Centre.
The conductor received a puncture wound under the left eye, a wound to the right palm, a wound to the right hand between the thumb and forefinger and abrasions to both knees.
The passenger received several stab wounds about the body. Both injured men were transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) by separate ambulances. At that time, the passenger’s medical condition was listed as critical, while the conductor’s was stable. (PR/KG)
