A flood watch remains in effect for Barbados and will be valid until 6 p.m. Wednesday.
A flood watch is issued when heavy or excessive rainfall could result in flooding within the watch area, but it does not mean that flooding will occur.
Over the last two days, a trough system has been affecting Barbados, generating wet and overcast conditions.
On Wednesday morning environmental conditions were less favourable for excessive amounts of rainfall. However, the unstable conditions being experienced have the potential to generate some pockets of moderate to heavy showers and periods of rain this afternoon into tonight.
Further accumulations of 1 to 2 inches across the island during the next 24 hours and residents and visitors are urged to remain alert.
Due to the already saturated nature of the soils, this watch could be upgraded to a warning at short notice with the onset of heavy shower activity. (PR/SAT)
