‘Getaway driver’ admits to break-ins, theft

He was only “the getaway driver”.

That was the cry of an unemployed man yesterday after pleading guilty to two theft charges.

Joshua Jamal Brewster, 29, of no fixed place of abode, confessed before Magistrate Deidre McKenna in the Oistins Magistrates’ Court to break-ins at the homes of Tracey Bascombe and O’Brien Callender on
September 12.

After hearing submissions from Acting Inspector Glenda Carter-Nicholls and Sergeant Richard Ellis, along with Brewster’s plea to be granted bail until sentencing, Magistrate McKenna remanded him. (SD)
