United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) donated a sanitising station, complete with bottles of alcohol and batteries, to the Arthur Smith Primary School today.
UNICEF representative Dr Aloys Kamuragiye said it was heartening to see how all the schools in Barbados were putting measures in place to ensure children were safe.
Afterwards, principal Wilma McClean took the officials, including Chief Education Officer Dr Ramona Archer-Bradshaw, on a tour of the Christ Church school to see the existing sanitising stations in use.
To date, every primary school class in Barbados has been outfitted with the stations. McClean said this latest one would be placed in an outdoor area. (CA)
