In-person classes delayed at Princess Margaret Secondary

The physical opening of the Princess Margaret Secondary School at Six Roads, St Philip will be delayed by one week.

In a press release today, the Ministry of Education advised parents and guardians that the delay was due to recently identified renovations that are required on one of the buildings on the school’s compound that must be immediately addressed.

“The safety and health of our students, teachers, and all staff is our top priority, therefore, the decision to delay the physical opening of school is necessary to ensure a secure and conducive learning environment for everyone,” the release said.

“Our maintenance team is working diligently to address the issue, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this time. Please be assured that we are taking every precaution to resolve the matter as quickly as possible.”

The release added that teachers are fully prepared to engage students in online learning where possible, facilitated through Google Classroom.

The new school team started today for teachers with students set to return tomorrow. (PR/HG)
