VIDEO: Tired of water issues

Residents of rural parishes affected by persistent discoloured water want to once more comfortably carry out their daily washing, cooking and cleaning.Residents of communities in St John and St Georgeare hoping the Barbados Water Authority’s (BWA) recently announced measures will tackle their problems.

The BWA explained that recent sharp extended rainfall resulted in muddy, chalky water from Bowmanston Pumping Station in St John and pumping was halted to allow the water to clear.

In addition to the private sector supplementing water to affected residents, the authority was increasing its community tanks, among other measures. It was also announced that a survey was conducted and 50 vulnerable households were identified to receive personal tanks.
