Jonathan Jones has claimed the title of fastest 600-yard runner in the world.
The 23-year-old Barbadian quarter miler once again wrote his name in athletics history by clocking the world best time over the distance at the Big 12 Conference Indoor track and field championship in Ames, Iowa on Saturday.
Jones, a former Coleridge and Parry student and Harrison College sixth former, clocked a NCAA collegiate record of 1:06.68 minutes before beating his chest and making a loud roar in celebration.
However, World Athletics (formerly IAAF), the governing body, does not recognise world records for the 600-yard event. (AG-B)
