Too much time was spent handling unnecessary conflicts during the 2022-2023 academic year, says principal of Deighton Griffith Secondary School, Major Michael Boyce.
He is urging students to find better ways to use social media and resolve their issues so the school can achieve even more.
“I think too much time was spent addressing conflicts that simply needed not to have happened. If as a school we were able to do as much as we did, imagine what else we could achieve,” Boyce said.
He was speaking during an Award and Prize-Giving Ceremony for 2022-2023 on Wednesday in which he highlighted the dangers of students using social media for negative acts.
Last December, some students at the Kingsland, Christ Church school reportedly panicked after news circulated that the institution was on a lockdown. Students were instructed to call their parents to collect them and police were on the scene. (TSG)
