Body found floating in Careenage

Police are conducting investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death of Ronald Michael Brathwaite, 66 years, of Nelson Street, The City whose unresponsive body was discovered floating in the Careenage, Bridgetown, around 6:25 am on Sunday.

Officers at Operations Control Centre received a call from a male around 6:30 a.m., stating that there was as body floating in the Careenage.

On arrival at the scene, Brathwaite was face down in the water in the area of the old Waterfront Cafe. His body was retrieved with the assistance of the Barbados Coast Guard.

A medical doctor pronounced death at the scene and the body was identified by a family member. (PR/SAT)
