Bodie Tap ends up dancing

Bodie Tap won a stewards’ upgrade, after passing the finish line in second behind Dominus, to take the Friday evening’s featured Welcome Back Handicap at the Garrison Savannah.

In conditions made soft by continuous rain midway through the nine-race Welcome Back Raceday programme, Dominus splashed home, making all in 1:10.4 minutes in an exhilarating performance by jockey Rey Williams.

However, moments following the event for top-class sprinters rated 140-120 and below, a stewards’ inquiry into the running of the race was conducted as officials had spotted something untoward.

It was determined that Dominus had caused interference, and the top two positions were reversed, with the Lester Edwards-ridden Bodie Tap, owned by Mark Goodridge, coming out on top while Dominus was relegated to second position. (LY)
